This Is Not The Same Problem As Diabetic Retinopathy.

The eye is a ball covered with a tough outer membrane. The new vessels are also often accompanied by scar tissue that may cause the retina to wrinkle or detach. Macular ischemia: small blood vessels capillaries close. Retinal Vein Occlusion generally occurs in the elderly.  Hard exudate: deposits of cholesterol or other fats from the blood that have leaked into the retina. Additional exams during pregnancy may be needed. This is not the same problem as diabetic retinopathy. But as it progresses, diabetic retinopathy usually causes vision loss that in many cases cannot be reversed.

Many problems can be treated with much greater success when caught early. If they leak blood, severe vision loss and even blindness can result. Doppler optical coherence tomography. In the case of Diabetic Retinopathy, as the diabetes progresses, the blood vessels that feed the retina become damaged in different ways.  There are several treatments for glaucoma.
